Business Development Manager (Solar)
Purpose of the role:
Experienced Solar & EV Solutions (ESEV) is an established Solar consultancy disrupting the energy market with significant growth plans for the remainder of 2025.
The role of the Business Development Manager is to assist with the set up, & development on its journey to rapid growth, of an established Energy Consultancy on its move into the Solar industry for its commercial clients via a new sister company.
The role will consist of pricing, procurement, operations, and project delivery of all domestic and commercial solar installations.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Tendering & Winning Commercial Tenders
- Managing new domestic & commercial solar projects.
- Project Manage tender process from design stage through to installation
- Travel to customer sites for site surveys and installation progress review
The person:
- Experience in solar PV projects from pricing & design through to installation.
- Be familiar with the design process with systems such as PV SOL / Solar Edge / Easy PV / CAD
- Passionate about renewable energy and carbon zero targets.
- Full design & pricing of relevant solar manufacturers for commercial businesses
- Project Management of Solar Developments in the pre-construction phase
- Working with planning authorities and stakeholders, external planning and specialist consultants.
- Early phase programme development and management
- Liaising with DNO’s / TNOs and ICPs on grid to ensure they are being progressed in tandem to planning.
- Working with clients & 3rd parties as required to facilitate access and management of installation.
- Expanding our ICP & 3rd party specialist contractor network
- Working closely with civils, mechanical, & electrical teams ensuring all project fine details are considered prior to site delivery.
Projections.
- Supporting the end to end process:
- Working with suppliers to order and facilitate materials.
- Working with third parties such as Scaffolders to installation
What we are looking for:
- Practical and comprehensive understanding of the planning/grid application system
- Able to communicate and negotiate effectively with clients
- Relevant experience within the renewable energy sector
- MW scale Solar PV Project Development experience
- Grid applications process experience
- Working with ICPs for cost effective connections
- Site identification knowledge
- Experience in solar PV projects from pricing & design through to installation.

Adaptable and Flexible – proactively anticipate stumbling blocks and develop contingency plans. - Flexible Working: ESEV employees have the opportunity to work from home 2 days a week, with the other 3 days working from company office (Tamworth office) however a lot of the role will consider of being on site surveys around the UK
- Hours of Work: 5 hours per week. (Mon-Fri 9-5) with 30 mins lunch break each day (Not formal with lunch at all but contractually that’s how it works)
